Disney World

Walt Disney World Resort or simply Disney World is an entertainment complex found in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The resort opened way back in 1971 and since then has been one of the most frequented vacation spots in the world, receiving almost 53 million people annually. It was designed to supplement the preexisting Disney Land in Anaheim built in 1955 and has been a huge success popularizing the Disney universe. It is important to point out that there are a few theme parks that form part of the resort along with other attractions that are associated with Disney World. Millions have visited but some of us (me included) did not know what parks exactly make up the resort. So we will discuss the theme parks and attractions that make up Disney World. Every theme park and attraction is fully accessible and welcomes everyone regardless of physical or mental disability. Luckily there are companies such as  Wheelers Accessible Van Rentals that offer Florida Wheelchair Van Rentals to make your trip easier.

Magic Kingdom
First things first, Magic Kingdom is the most popular and talked about theme park in the Disney Universe. Its Cinderella Castle is frequented in more Facebook pictures than most landmarks I’ve ever seen and it is shown at the start of any Disney movie.  Here children take pictures with every Disney character and enjoy rides at Adventureland, Fantasyland, Frontierland and Tomorrowland.

Epcot
Epcot is pretty much a letdown after having visited Magic Kingdom but it is still one of the most visited theme parks in the world. It is more for adults than for children and it is often referred to as the permanent world’s fair. It is used as a tribute to technological innovation and represented by Spaceship Earth, a geodesic sphere that serves as an attraction.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Previously known as MGM Studios Park and it is the third of the four theme parks built at the Walt Disney World Resort and it was opened in 1989. This park is dedicated to show business and remembering Hollywood back in the 1930s and 1940s. It is fun for the whole family but more for adults that get to see attractions such as old Hollywood Boulevard and streets of old America. But perhaps its most known attraction is the headquarters to Pixar Studios. It’s home to the Hollywood Tower Hotel attraction and the Rock n Roll Coaster ride.

Animal Kingdom
As the name implies, Animal Kingdom takes its visitors on a safari unlike any they’ve seen before. The safaris resemble those African Safaris and animals such as Elephants, Lions and giraffes among others. Over the years there have been additions to the park that includes the Asian Safari, Rafiki’s planet watch and Dinoland USA. This theme park creates the illusion that you are in different parts of the world both real and fictional.
