Meet JIBO: Our Very Own House Hold Robot

Robots are here are they haven’t come in the form of the Terminator.  Yes it is true that DARPA is working on some insane projects like the robotic horse and cheetah, just to name a few but these aren’t the robots that we will be seeing in our homes anytime soon.  DARPA is leaving those for the battle field.  No the robots that will be left to the confine of our homes are a bit more helpful and less intimidating than DARPA’s robotic utility contraptions.
New York City CCTV Systems

Jibo, the world’s first family robot has been receiving a lot of positive light as of late.  It has hit the media hype machine running.  If you haven’t heard of JIBO you must not be a fan of mass media.  The tiny clean designed electronic is hard not to like.  And it seems as if most people feel this way as well considering that JIBO has climbed passed the initial fundraising goal of 100 thousands and went straight to a mind blowing 1.8 million dollars in pre-orders.

So the question remains, are we ready to step into the future and begin to allow robots to run our daily home tasks.  For now it seems JIBO is a bit limited only taking photos, placing take-out orders and reading stories to the kids. JIBO is being marketed as your very own personal assistant.
Here are a few things this little guy can do:

The gift of sight:

yes JIBO can see.  Thanks to its two hi-res cameras this little guy can recognize and track faces, capture photo and enable immersive video calling

The gift of speech:

Think of JIBO as your personal assistant. Reminding you of appointment you may have jotted down on your calendar.  I can just imagine this little guy following you around reminding you that you have to go pick up the kids from soccer practice.

The gift of hearing:

The Company that has created JIBO boasts that thanks to 360 degree microphones and natural language processing JIBO can hear you from anywhere in the room taking down notes as you speak.

The gift of learning:

JIBO watches you and picks up on your habits.  Artificial intelligence algorithms allows JIBO to learn your preferences and adapts to fit your lifestyle.

The gift of communication:

JIBO communicates and expresses itself by using natural social and emotive cues.  This allows the both of you to understand each other a bit better.

JIBO may be a long way from making you breakfast in bed but as technology improves so will its functionality.  For now it seems as if home automation is the heavy hitter when it comes to making life easier to manage at home.  If you are interested in what’s new in the home automation world look no further than Cyber Technologies.

Cyber Home Inc Features Nest Products Westchester NY

Cyber Home Inc is proud to announce the release of new Featured Products. These are products that they think are pushing the boundaries of the industry. The products featured this month are those that bring a new level of convenience to your home automation projects. Nest Products Westchester NY, Sonos SystemsWestchester NY and Savant Systems Westchester NY all have influenced their respective industries and now Cyber Home Inc has the necessary design and installation teams to bring these services to your residential property.

Nest Products Westchester NY are the premium home automation climate control for the 21st century.  Based in Silicon Valley and recently purchased by Google, Nest Labs specializes in thermostats and smoke detectors. The Nest thermostat adds to our New York Home Automation by automatically programming itself in about a week. It sense when you are out of the house and adjusts the home climate automatically to your lifestyle. For example in the summer, it doesn't run the air conditioner when no one is home, but turns it on in the late afternoon to cool the house for your arrival.

Another great feature of Nest Products Westchester NY by Cyber Home Inc is the ability to control the temperature from your smartphone. With the Nest app, available in the app store and Google play, you can pick your temperature from miles away. Maybe you are working late or sitting in traffic, or the kids are getting out of school early, you can adjust the temperature remotely for complete home automation.

Someone who doesn't care about thermostats or home automation may not think this is cool. Or may be thinking it is cool, but why would I want that. Well, the truth is, that half of the energy used in your home is from the thermostat. More than appliances, lights, TVs and computers all combined. You can essentially cut your energy bill in half by automating it to turn down when you are not home. This saves you around 170 dollars a year. Check out the Nest Savings Calculator, before contacting the design team at Cyber Home Inc. to see if it is something you are interested in.

As if saving money isn’t a good enough reason to be excited about Nest Products Westchester NY, you are also saving the environment. Going green has been the buzzword in home improvements for the past five years and more recently it has been implemented into home automation projects. Saving money on your energy bill translates to less energy used and less energy used means less exhaust. This is better for the environment than polluting day in and day out without an automated thermostat.

Return on Investment: Garage Doors Take the Top Spots

Spring is nearly here and that means it’s time for home improvements. If you are like millions of other Americans, New Englanders and New Yorkers you are thinking about how to use this opportunity to showcase the curb appeal of your home while also increasing its value. With a garage door installation, garage door repair or garage door service you will be making one the best investments in your home that you can make.

According to Remodeling.HW.net, a website which has chronicled a cost/value analysis of various improvement projects, garage door replacement for those in the Middle Atlantic was the second highest return on investment out of any mid range home improvement project. It fell a few percentage points behind an entry door replacement. The average job cost for a garage door replacement was $1,567 and the resale value was $1,318. This means that 84% of the cost is recouped over time.

If one is to look further into this data when deciding between a garage door replacement and other midrange projects such as building a deck, adding a sunroom the decision becomes even easier. A garage door replacement costs on average 75% less than the aforementioned projects. In fact the ROI is the highest in the mid-atlantic and New England regions. The return on your initial investment also grows when it is a custom garage door.

For those with a little more budget than a mid-range home improvement this spring, a garage door replacement is the number one upscale remodeling project for return on investment. With an average cost of $2,842 for an upscale model and a resale value of $2,219 the cost recouped by the owner is a whopping 78%. Compare this to the average return on investment of a bathroom remodeling which is only 50% of costs recouped and the garage door becomes more than just a way to make your home look nice, it can be a money maker as well.

The curb appeal that a new garage door adds may not seem like a lot, but when you look at the statistics, it becomes much more prevalent and obvious. People notice the little things, and though your garage door is the largest mechanical device of your home, a custom touch adds a huge increase in value. A small relative upfront cost juxtaposed with a return on your investment that surpasses additions, kitchen remodels and new decks, make overhead doors something to consider.

Alarm Systems: Is It Time For An Upgrade?

Help Cyber Technologies Help You!

This past year there were over 2.5 million break-ins in the US alone (FBI.gov). Millions of people in all fifty states were terrorized by burglars and thieves who broke in to their homes. Everyone thinks that this will never happen to them until it does. The dangers of a break in are even greater if you don’t have an alarm system or worse, your alarm system isn't up to date.

An alarm system that isn’t up to date gives the impression that you are protected when in actuality you are not. A false sense of comfort can be detrimental to the safety of you, your family, and your assets. No one deserves this false sense of security, so servicing your Greenwich CT alarm system, Bedford alarm system, or Pound Ridge alarm system is vital. Cyber Technologies is a systems integration specialist servicing alarm systems in Bedford, Pound Ridge, Westchester, Millbrook, Stanfordville, Dutchess County, Orange County, Manhattan, and New York City.

If you do not have an existing alarm system having one installed this spring is an investment worth looking in to. Though some may say it is impossible to put a price on the safety of our loved ones, having an alarm system installed is more affordable than ever. Cyber Technologies has the technology to integrate your alarm systems to your smartphone or tablet.
Having the status of your home or business right at your fingertips makes for one less thing you have to worry about. This cutting edge technology is integrated seamlessly into your busy life. With that being said, adequate protection is easily accessible for your home in the Westchester or Dutchess County. Spring is fast approaching and with the snow finally receding there is no better time to implement proper security measures. These security measures are designed to keep both you and your family safe.

Though Dutchess and Westchester County are seen as twoof the safest counties around, no one is immune to the dangers of a break in or burglary. Cyber Technologies is a home automation and system integration company based in Westchester County and they are happy to provide alarm systems for residential and commercial properties. With over ten years of service, alarm systems has become a niche they are proud to be in.

Current Technologies Lead Us into the Future

NPR’s TED radio hour is a radio show focusing on fascinating ideas, astonishing inventions and new ways to think and create. In the episode titled “Predicting the Future” they discuss what the next big technology will be.

Todd Humphreys a key speaker in this discussion says that, “Whatever the next thing is going to be, will be at the interface of silicon and biology. It isn’t going to be the iPhone 7 or the Internet 2. We’re going to see things happen that are astonishing” (TED 13-9-13).  Humphreys is saying that the future of our society isn’t going to be a vast change, but rather the dynamic optimization of what we already have.

The dynamic optimization of our future is already taking place, and it is closer than most probably realize. The integration of our systems into an easily accessible interface is something that the Hudson Valley has thrived with for decades. The astonishing invention that the TED talk features sheds light onto the work that Cyber Technologies has done for years. They are systems integration experts and work to fully automate homes and commercial buildings.

Cyber technologies works at the cross roads of the past and the future. They have not invented the next iPhone or the next internet, they have however, simplified these technologies so that even the most technologically challenged has the tools to exploit their potential. According to the featured speakers at TED, who pick out the most amazing ideas in our culture, the biggest idea is already here. It exists under our noses and milking it dry is how we will progress into the future of technology. The internet at our fingertips is incredible so why not integrate the systems at your home and live the future.

It is the systems that we use every day that will change our lives. We rely on our fire alarms for the safety of our family and colleagues, we rely on CCTV to monitor our properties and we use home theaters to relax after a long day. These technologies are decades or centuries old but having them on your handheld? That is next step. Knowing exactly how safe your belongings are throughout your time away is the future. The cutting edge of technology is integrating these systems to our smarthphones and tablets and even our mp3 players so we can extract the value of them. With existing technology we can save millions of dollars every year on energy and be better protected from burglaries and break-ins.

Joining the “next internet” or getting your hands on the “next iPhone” isn’t even a difficult thing to do. Integrating the existing systems of your home is simpe when you let Cyber Technologies service your home or business. The technicians come out to your property to offer a free quote.
