New York Wheelchair Van Rentals: Get To The Game On Time Pt. 1

It’s that wonderful time of year when MLB is under way, the NHL playoffs are taking place, the NBA playoffs have kicked off, and of course the NFL draft is right around the corner. Sporting events are a great option for handicapped accessible travel and are extremely popular for many travelers in the New York region. The busiest time of year for sports is Early May and with so many New York teams in the mix the only thing you have to worry about is when to book a New York Wheelchair Van Rentals so you get there on time.

For the MLB, both of New York’s teams are well on their way to disappointing seasons again.  The Yankees said their farewell to Mariano Rivera last year and will say goodbye to the poster child Derek Jeter this year. The former batting champion and highest paid player in the league, Alex Rodriguez is spending the year in time out for his second steroid violation. In fact cheating seems to be a theme for the Yankees this year. The one bright point in their starting rotation, pitcher Pineda, was  ejected for pine tar use in a game at Fenway Park. The Yanks have the experience to maybe grab a wildcard spot but will not be relevant for long. However, there is one positive note for the Bronx Bombers; at least they aren't the Mets.

The Mets are coming off five consecutive losing seasons and show no signs of this changing. The NL East is loaded so don’t expect a playoff run from the starting 9 in Queens. They are young and developing a strong minor league program but are still years away from benefiting from this. The Mets are the epitomize a disappointing sports franchise and I pity their fans. The organization is marred with losing seasons, injuries and tragic losses to rivals in recent decades. Of course losing is nothing new for them and another sad season will come and go like their starting pitching staff.

Though New York is not much of a hockey town the NHL has a presence. First the good news; the New York Islanders managed to avoid an abysmal season for the second year in a row. Now the bad news, they still failed to make the playoffs.  They managed three wins under a .500 record yet somehow still find themselves in last place again.  Finishing 8th in the Metropolitan division isn’t the worst thing for the Isles, though after last year’s brief taste of the playoffs I’m sure the fans wanted more.

Moving across the sound into Manhattan we have the New York Rangers and finally something positive to say about a New York sports team. With arguably the best net minder in the world between the pipes, Lundquist, many have chanced the Rangers with a possibility for a deep playoff run. With that being said there are still questions for the boys in blue to answer. For one, they are playing without a captain after trading long time American hockey success story Ryan Callahan to the Lightning for University of Vermont graduate Martin St. Louis. The Rangers face the Flyers in the first round and it should be an emotional and physical series.
